LED Light Bulbs

Upgrading to LED light bulbs is one of the quickest and easiest ways to reduce your homes lighting energy consumption by as much as 90%. The humble incandescent has a light output of around 12 lumens per watt, most of the input energy is lost as heat. Our range of LED replacements by comparison have a minimum efficiency of 85 lumens per watt and as high as 110 lumens per watt. Most of this energy is converted directly into light and very little is lost as heat. On top of the energy savings to be gained, the LED replacements have a life expectancy of 25,000 – 35,000 hours – 5 to 10 times longer than a halogen or incandescent, that’s 6 – 10 years if you run your lights for 10 hours every day. The cost of quality LED bulbs has decreased significantly over the last few years, and while the cost is still several times more than a traditional bulb, based on 10 hours a day running they will pay for themselves in power savings within 12 months – saving you 6 to 10 times the original purchase price over their life. Our range of 12V MR16 bulbs is also compatible with most electronic transformers and existing dimming circuits. Saving money is now as easy as changing a bulb. more information on LED light bulbs. LED strip lighting FAQ

12V or 24V LED strip: which should I choose?

24V strip runs longer distances with less voltage drop, so it suits most runs over about 3 m and larger installs. 12V suits short runs, vehicles, boats and battery systems. Always match the strip voltage to the power supply.

What do IP ratings mean for LED strip?

IP20 strip is for dry indoor areas only. IP65 is silicone coated and splash resistant for kitchens, bathrooms and sheltered outdoor areas. IP67 and IP68 are fully sealed for outdoor or submersible use.

Which colour temperature should I pick?

2700K to 3000K is warm white for living areas and hospitality, 4000K is natural white for kitchens, retail and workspaces, and 6000K to 6500K is cool white for task and display lighting. CCT strips let you adjust between warm and cool.

Can LED strip be cut to length?

Yes. Only cut on the marked cut lines printed on the strip, then reconnect with solder or a compatible connector. Waterproof strip needs resealing at the cut with an end cap and silicone.
